First, I wanna start by saying that I hope everyone had a good weekend; whether you celebrated Valentine's Day or not. <3

Okay, so as some or all of you may have heard, deviantArt has officially failed the hard-working talented artists who's work they host. Many of them are leaving for fear that their work will be stolen and some are staying because they can't afford to leave (or it will affect their fanbase/views/commissions).

If you haven't heard, basically what's going down is that dA has a new policy that allows tracing and blatant copying of another artist's work even without their permission; people don't even have to cite their ref sources. So basically, dA's "copywrites" are just there for show and art theives are now artists.

Should I bother with trying to set up something on FA? So how do we expand our community without mega ammounts of drama, potential trollage and hypocrites getting in? What do you guys think about the whole issue? If we continue to use the dA community, I feel like people will eventually drop off the face of the earth--so to speak--after a while anyway. (I'm surprised at how many people really haven't heard of this tracing drama yet!)

---

Also , I was thinking about changing the full name of the community from Anthro Fans Against the Furry Fandom to something a little less militant sounding (I don't want to scare good people away because they're afraid we'll ridicule them if they consider themselves active members of the fandom.) Really, I just want to get the point across that our community is about cleaning up the image of the average anthro artist/enthusiast or "furry" without making it seem like you can't hang with your friends and enjoy shit like fursuiting, conventions, badge trades, commissions, art sites and all that.

So we're fuckin' around trying to come up with something else. I know it shouldn't be hard, but I'm running on low energy and low brain power today, lol. I wanna keep the Acronym as A.F.A.F.F., but we--like I said--wanna soften the image of the group (juuuust a little; not too much. ;P)

SO FAR WE HAVE:

Anthro Fans Against Furry Fetish(ism)/(ists)/(es)
Anthro Fans Against the Fandom's Freaks
Anthro Fans Against Freaky Fetishes
Anthro Fans Against the Fucking Fetishes (rofl)
Anthro Fans Against Furry Freaks

Guh, ideas? Let us know what you're thinkin'!

This is a wonderful idea for a community!

Did you wanna join or are you just watching?

Joining would be good, I like the idea of the community a lot.
I think a lot of people are put off anthro art due to the stigmata of "all anthro artists being into bizzare fetishes and zoophilia."
:iconafaff-community:
Yeah, it's hard to deal with that shit. @_@ Most people didn't realize how big a part of our culture anthro art has been for the longest time (in marketing and animation and stories and mythology and ALLLL that) so I think that's the one thing the fandom has going for it as far as cleaning up the image and getting the everyman to appreciate it as a legit art form rather than a sexual preference. (O.o);

I added you to the members list; assuming that's what you wanted. If not, I'll take you off, no problem.
